Blushing Bride

After viewing the new collections from bridal designers at Chicago Bridal Market and finally seeing a pictures of Reese Witherspoon’s wedding gown, newly engaged brides may have one more thing to blush about.

Throughout the years many bridal designers have given bride’s the option of ordering certain gown styles in blush and other subtle shades of pink.  Although this color has been available, many brides still opt to walk down the aisle in a more traditional white or ivory gown.

I am very interested to see if this color trend will become more popular with the newly engaged, especially after seeing the blush pink Monique Lhuillier wedding gown worn by Hollywood’s sweetheart, Reese Witherspoon to wed fiancé Jim Toth.

Reese isn’t the only celeb to don a pink gown at her wedding…let’s not forget the white and pink custom made John Galliano (Dior) wedding gown that Gwen Stefani rocked at her wedding to Gavin Rossdale in 2002.

Only Gwen Stefani and John Galliano for Dior could blend romance and a little bit of rock and roll!!

To all the brides starting their wedding gown search…I have great news! You don’t need to worry about a lack of pink hued gowns.  Top bridal designers like Alvina Valenta, Reem Acra, Romona Keveza and Vera Wang continue to show pieces of their collections in this romantic shade.  And after this weekend at Chicago Bridal  Market I discovered that other designers have added this color option to their Fall 2011 Collections as well, making a blush gown available to brides at all different price points.

If you are thinking about straying away from the safe choice of either white or ivory…try a blush gown.  What bride wouldn’t want to walk down the aisle in a color that defines femininity, romance and love???
