A fascinator is a type of headpiece that can be worn in place of a traditional veil.  Fascinators typically attach to your hair with a comb, (alligator) clip, or some can be worn as headbands.  These headpieces can be simple consisting of one or two feathers, or they can be very ornate and dramatic.  The different amounts of sparkle, feathers and/or flowers depends on the individual bride and her bridal style.

Today, when required to wear hats to special events and occasions, women may choose to wear fascinators instead.  A large number of brides have started to request these pieces since fascinators have become more and more prevalent in fashion, partly due to England’s Kate Middleton.
